With a theme, “Sama-sama ng Pamilya sa Paaralang Loyola 2010”, LCC launched its first a family day for the school year 2010-2011 last August 14.
At 8:00 A.M., all students and their parents celebrated a high mass with Rev. Father Xavier C. Alpasa S.J. as the mass celebrant. Everyone was in ‘Pormang Pinoy” wearing traditional Filipino costumes.
After the mass, everybody met at LCC Quadrangle for the next activity, “Pasyal Kapamilya”. Parents together with their sons/daughters of each level had a picture taking. New members of the faculty- Mr. Ronald M. Suplido Jr., Mr. Rainier Armand Magno and Ms. Elizabeth Nuñez, toured the parents in every building, office and classroom of the school including the LCC Library and Media Center, Hotel Maya, Isla Culion Consumers Cooperative Store.
At 10:00 a.m., parlor games for parents began. The “Larong Pinoy” aimed to create an exciting atmosphere to every parent and at the same time preserves the cultural heritage of the Filipinos. Parents obviously enjoyed the games specially prepared and facilitated by the parents themselves and with the assistance of the CSC and KBSC officers.
At 12:00 noon, it was the “Tsibugan Kapamilya” part. Fr. Javy, LCC school president led the grace before meal. Families gathered and eat lunch together.
By 01:30 p.m., the games resumed and finally ended by 3:00 pm in preparation of the upcoming program named, “Nood Kapamilya.” The Tribong Loyola Dance Troupe and the LCC Band performed to entertain the parents.
The whole day event turned out successful. The over-all goal of the activity is achieved. The said activity once again strengthened the tie that bonds the school and the parents.
